POSTER DESIGN
This poster is inspired by the expression “to death with a smile” for the 2017 annual MUMEDI International Poster Competition. In total there were 30,000 submissions from 157 countries and this poster was one of the top 541 finalists. Taking from the sublime complexity of space, this piece weaves hand-lettering, traditional and digital painting into one succinct and sentimental image. Its purpose is to prompt the viewer to reflect introspectively about death in relation to proximity while seeing the night sky smiling back at them.
